The province of Cebu is made up of one main island and 167 surrounding islands and islets. Home to almost 3 million people, it is the most populous province in the Visayas.
Cebu is currently the most prosperous region in the Philippines and its economic importance is only second to Luzon. Tourism, in particular, is flourishing in the province. It welcomes more than 2 million international visitors each year thanks to its beautiful tropical islands, rich marine life, clear blue water, and lively nightlife.

With 922,611 inhabitants, it is also the fifth most populous city in the Philippines and is also the oldest city in the country, which is why it is very rich in history. Among its high-rise buildings and buzzing nightlife scene, visitors can find a number of historical buildings, such as Fort San Pedro and Casa Gorordo Museum.

Aside from Cebu City and Malboal, the islands of Badian, Mactan, Camotes, Malapascua, and Badian are also popular. These islands are known for their natural beauty, as well as upmarket hotels and resorts.
Cebu is seen as an attractive destination for many people thanks to its low cost of living, as with most areas of the Philippines, most foreigners are able to live comfortably with a mid-range salary. The Philippine Peso is the official currency used in the province, and the exchange rate from US$1 is around ₱49.10.
Lots of people also fall in love with the province’s amazing people and beautiful weather. The people in the province are known to be very friendly and welcoming and the weather is warm all year round. The province experiences two seasons, including the rainy season (from June to November) and dry season (December to May).
To live in Cebu, foreigners need to obtain a visa. The most common type of visa is the Long Stay Visitor Visa, which is valid for a maximum of 16 months and needs to be reapplied for up to 6 months at a time.
